Marc Anthony is smack dab in the middle of his face-saving press tour, and he's setting the record straight as to what's really happening, from his messy split from Jennifer Lopez, to the accusations of an adulterous affair with HawthoRNe co-star Jada Pinkett Smith.
Anthony sat down with ABC news and revealed that above anything, he still cares for Lopez.
And what about the constant Hollywood claims that affairs contributed to the marriage's breakdown? Not true, says Anthony:
“absolutely not.” The reason for their break-up, he says, was much simpler. Their marriage just no longer “worked.”
Anthony has sought solace in his Long Island, NY home, spending time alone to reflect on the split (and likely avoid the prying lens of the paparazzi).
OK, so he's taking some personal time... we get it. What about his rumored affair with Jada Pinkett Smith? Reps have come down against the claims, but what really went down? US has an exclusive insight into the situation -Though the two reportedly never had a "full-blown-affair," one 'HawthoRNe' source reveals that "They were a little touchy and like they were in their own little world," adding that the twosome often hung out alone in his trailer, and talked and texted frequently.
As Anthony's marriage began to crumble, he sought even more comfort from Smith,
"The more distant Marc and Jennifer became, the closer he got to Jada," a family insider says, adding that Pinkett Smith may have "overstepped her bounds" in lending Anthony marital advice. Not shockingly, this didn't exactly win Anthony any brownie points with Lopez.
