Oprah to Air Two-Hour Whitney Houston Special

OWN to pay tribute to late icon's life and career by re-airing 2009 interview
As reported last night, several TV networks have announced plans to honor the life and legacy of late R&B icon Whitney Houston. Oprah Winfrey, who conducted the last in-depth sit-down with Houston in 2009, is now among those paying tribute. This Thursday, Feb. 16, OWN will air "Remembering Whitney: The Oprah Interview," which will feature Winfrey's entire, intimate conversation with the fallen diva and personal reflections from Oprah herself.
During the interview, Houston was candid about drug abuse, her rocky marriage to Bobby Brown and generally complicated relationship with fame and stardom. She also performed "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" during the broadcast, a song that has chilling echoes in light of the tragic news from Saturday, Feb. 11, when her death was confirmed. Below is a clip of that performance, a fitting tribute in and of itself.

"Remembering Whitney: The Oprah Interview" airs Thursday, Feb. 16, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on OWN
